who we are
Sodé-Zo Center is a body of believers hungry to see the glory of the Lord revealed in our world. We value His presence above all and honor His Word as our foundation. Our assignment in the body of Christ is to make disciples, reach the lost and broken, and equip the next generation to carry the gospel in a way that transforms our city, our nation, and the world.
core values & beliefs
-
We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God. Although God used men to write the Bible, they wrote through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We believe that Scripture interprets Scripture, and we adhere to the command to study and show ourselves approved unto God—workmen who rightly divide the Word of truth.
2 Peter 1:20–21 -
We believe in the salvation of mankind through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all through His sacrifice. He gave Himself for us to redeem us and purify us as His own, and we eagerly look for His return.
Titus 2:11–15
-
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to dwell within at the new birth, and He comes upon the believer at baptism for power. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is an essential encounter that every believer needs.
Jesus lines out in His teachings that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, whom the Father freely gives according to Luke 11:11-13. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an empowerment from God to live a Christ-like life, which is impossible apart from Him. The power to carry out the Great Commission is released through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:11; Luke 11:11–13 -
We believe in baptism in water for the repentance of sins and the death of the old life. As we step into the water, we acknowledge that our life before Christ is dead. When we rise out of the water, we testify that we are a new creation in Christ, fully committed to living out His will and purposes.
Romans 6:3–4
-
We believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His resurrection validates our faith in the Messiah. Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the power of God, so we too will be raised at the last trumpet.
1 Corinthians 6:14
-
We believe in the second coming of Christ. Jesus Christ will descend from heaven in a cloud with great glory and power. He will gather His saints—both the dead and the living—together.
Matthew 24:30–31; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 1:7
-
We believe in the Godhead: God the Father, Jesus the Son (the Word), and the Holy Spirit. We acknowledge that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit work in perfect unity as one. The Godhead is essential in the creation and development of every believer.
1 John 5:7
-
We believe in the ministry gifts that Jesus set in the Church for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry. The apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher are all commissioned to equip the saints. We believe these ministry gifts are active today and are needed for the building up of the Church.
Ephesians 4:11–13
-
We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts are given for the benefit of all and are available to those who believe that God desires to use them to impact mankind.
1 Corinthians 12:1–11
